Renowned Expert Advancing Bleeding Disorders Care
Founder, The Northstar Collaborative
Dr. Angela Forsyth is an internationally recognized leader in hemophilia and bleeding disorders physiotherapy, bringing more than 30 years of specialization in musculoskeletal care, orthopedics, and comprehensive rehabilitation for people with inherited bleeding disorders.
Following her clinical practice in several major U.S. hemophilia treatment centers, she spent 13 years as an educator in the home infusion specialty pharmacy space, shaping national standards for patient education, provider training, and collaborative care models. She is now the founder and principal consultant of The Northstar Collaborative, LLC, where she partners with organizations worldwide to elevate clinical practice, program development, and strategic education in bleeding disorders care.
Dr. Forsyth's clinical career includes service at RUSH University Medical Center in Chicago, Christiana Hospital in Newark, (Delaware), and both the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. Across these roles, she advanced multidisciplinary approaches to joint health, injury prevention, and long‑term musculoskeletal outcomes for individuals with hemophilia and related disorders.
A respected speaker, educator and consultant, Dr. Forsyth has delivered training and clinical guidance across the United States and in more than 20 countries, supporting providers, treatment centers, and patient communities in strengthening musculoskeletal care worldwide. She is the author and co‑author of more than 50 peer-reviewed and other educational publications, including Playing It Safe: Bleeding Disorders, Sports and Exercise, one of the National Bleeding Disorders Foundation’s most widely used and enduring educational resources. In addition to her professional work, she has volunteered extensively with global organizations such as the World Federation of Hemophilia and in coordination with Save One Life, contributing to capacity‑building efforts and direct community support.
Dr. Forsyth is a former chair of both the NBDF Physical Therapy Group and the WFH Musculoskeletal Committee, where she helped shape national and international guidelines for physiotherapy in bleeding disorders. Her leadership and contributions have been recognized with the NBDF Physical Therapist of the Year Award and the Physical Therapy Excellence Fellowship, honoring her dedication to advancing care, education, and outcomes for the bleeding disorders community.
